Poll: What would your ideal timeline/motion editor be in Flash Professional?

I know it’s been awhile, and trust me, a ton of blog posts are coming, but I just want to see something for myself. All I want to know is what YOU, the day-in, day-out, Flasher want the timeline in Flash to look like.

This is in no way sponsored by Adobe, this is strictly to satisfy my own curiosity and see what the Flash community wants. I’ve been working in Flash for years, and have also been asking for the After Effects timeline/motion editor for just as long. Humor me and let me know what you ALL think.

What do YOU want? Let’s hear it! Spread this far and wide!

Just a reminder, if you vote ‘Other’, please explain in the comments! Thanks! – KS

Never understood why Adobe just didn’t take the AE timeline as-is and just use it.

Having spent ages loathing the CS4 model, I think I’ve finally “got it” and now prefer it to the classic tween model. Though, and this is a big “though”, sometimes there are things that will always work better with the classic tween so I guess it’s a case of knowing when to use the different tools.

My main bugbear is that the new model doesn’t let you tween more than one filter! RUBBISH!

I’d love to see the After Effects timeline, however I would even more like to see speed improvements to the player. As it is now with the CS4 timeline and motion editor, you start getting a lot of things happening, and everything just chokes and bogs down.

I love both AE and Flash and use them in conjunction a lot – I’d love to see Flash IDE incorporate a lot of AE’s attributes such as true(ish) 3D layers, lights, cameras, and of course where AE kicks ass – effects.

@Ian: You can tween more than one filter in the new model. You can add as many filters as you want to an instance, and tween all of their properties together or individually.
